Capricon 46 is a Sci-Fi & Fantasy convention in Chicago, IL, and this year I’ll be returning for several events!
Capricon was my first SFF con back in the day! In fact, I sold my first piece of original art in the art show in 1992 (and it meant so much to me that I still have a framed photocopy of the check, lol). I have fond memories of hanging out in the anime room, discovering cool stuff in the dealer’s room, and clowning around with friends into the wee hours of the night.
Before I knew it, I went from being a fan at the show to participating in panels, (moderating some as well), and rubbing elbows with authors far more famous. It’s a good time!
The last Capricon I was able to attend was in 2020, so I’m excited to go back! So if you’re interested in attending, here’s the lowdown on where you can find me or my work over the long weekend!
Capricon 46 – Rise of the Humans starts Thursday, Feb 15th and runs through Sunday, Feb 18th at the Marriot Chicago O’Hare.
- Art Show: I’ll have all my latest comics and art collections in the Print Shop, so you can stop by the Art Show any time to pick up a copy of Soul Chaser Betty or Salvage Hounds and more.
- Panel: Designing Things that Don’t Exist – Fri 2:30 to 3:30. This is a discussion all about creating things for world building, from cultures & creature to spaceships & technological wonders. How to make them believable, functional (and also cool).
- Signing: Friday from 4:30 to 5:15 – Find me at the Autographing Tables where I’ll have a wiser selection of my books and prints, plus I’ll have advanced copies of the latest Soul Chaser Betty book to check out.
- Panel: The Kernel of a Thought – Sun 11:30 to 12:30. This panel is all about where we find inspiration, from movies and books to music and even looking out the window. Come see how authors and artists find inspiration and get some ideas for your own creative process.
I hope to see you there!
