Ok, this weeks art update features the clean cover painting for the front and back of Salvage Hounds Volume 01.
The above image is the full, wrap around cover, showing both the front and back images. This was my attempt at doing a “movie poster” style layout. I can easily imagine this being a wrap around cover for a VHS or DVD slip case back in the day. Imagine coming across this movie at Blockbuster – I’d rent it!
Next up, the isolated front cover. This is actually an “expanded” version of the front cover, extending the image to include more of the bleed around the left and right edge. Normally, the captain would be cropped as she “wraps around” to the back cover, but I figured it would be nice to include more of here for this version.
Finally, the back cover. I liked the idea of doing a police line up for this one. I was able to use the original character/costume design drawings, and that helped me save a little time as well!

These will now live in the Illustrations Gallery, so go there to check them out with tons of other color work.
