Convention Appearance: Uchi-Con

UPDATE 1/25/20: Unfortunately I’ve had to cancel my appearance at Uchi-Con at the last minute. My sincere apologies to the con and students, and I wish them the best of luck today. There’s lots of other artists and stuff to do at the show, so head out and support the students at Uchi-Con in my absence!

Original Post:

This weekend, Saturday January 25th I’ll be at Uchi-Con in Chicago for their annual show centered on comics, anime, and everything geek!

Billed as “Poor college students bring you the best free convention on the center side of the Atlantic,” Uchi-Con is a school show run by students held at Ida Noyes Hall at the University of Chicago from 10am to 6pm. Best of all? Entrance is free! That’s a great opportunity to come by and check out the show, especially for those who are looking for a first time convention to see what the geek and comics scene is all about!

There will be artists, creators, panels, cosplay contests, karaoke, a game room, a film room, anime screenings, and even Anime Bingo!

This will be a return of sorts for me – I first did Uchi-Con way back in 2007. At the time I was just about to print the Soul Chaser Betty Graphic Novel, (which debuted a few months later at ACEN), and had a good time hanging out with some fellow friends and comic creators. I’m excited to see how this show has changed and grown in the last 13 years!

Come find me in artist alley, where I’ll be set up with Soul Chaser Betty: Slumber Party of DOOM!, artbooks like Inktober 2018 & Dangerous Beauty, as well as original art, sketch cards, and tons of prints.

Hope to see you there!
