Do you like helping kids? Good causes? Well, here’s one to support: ComicBooks for Kids!
ComicBooks for Kids is a non-profit that distributes child friendly comics and coloring books to children in hospitals and cancer centers across the U.S. These books help bring comfort to kids as they undergo treatment, by giving them amazing adventures to read and beautiful pictures to color.
I was recently invited to participate in their next coloring book project, contributing a brand new inked version of Moon Dance. I went all the way back to the original pencils from 2001, re-inking the original and adding some new design elements so that the kids will have more things to color.
This new black and white version will be featured in the 2020 coloring book, along with the work of dozens of artists, including some of my all time favorites such as Frank Frazetta, John Bolton, Mike Kaluta, Will Eisner, William Stout, Thomas Yeates, Roy Krenkel, Hal Foster, Mike Ploog, and Stan Sakai.
While the charity works with a lot of donations (comic books from publishers and art from people like me) they still have to pay for printing up these wonderful coloring books. To help offset these costs, they do set aside a few copies to sell in an effort to recoup printing costs. If these books sound cool, why not drop by their website to check out what’s available in their store, or to simply make a donation?
Thanks for any support, even it’s just spreading the word to others! Please consider sharing this post or the ComicBooks for Kids! website to help this great cause.
