The outer solar system is the new rough and tumble edge of civilization. “Boomtown” space stations dot the outer dark of the asteroid belt and the moons of Jupiter, mining outposts run by the mega corporations.

But life out here isn’t always what the corporate recruiters make it out to be. Workers are promised the literal moons of Jupiter but end up as little more than slave labor, what little they make barely enough to survive let alone afford a ticket back home to Earth. Meanwhile, the corporations wage actual war over mining claims, their militarized fleets killing each other over the rich resources the home world craves.

And there’s little surprise that the boomtowns and wars attract opportunists who know how to make a buck. They call themselves entrepreneurs, but most just call them pirates.
